Library

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”  Dr Seuss

Children are encouraged to borrow from our extensive library. Library staff promote and aim to develop in all students an appreciation of literature. Books provide an opportunity for parents and children to develop and foster a love of reading.

Monitoring of new publications and purchasing of quality resources is an ongoing process to ensure resources match children’s interests and the resource needs of teachers.

The library has a computerised borrowing system and numerous software programs to assist students with all their research and publishing activities. Students also visit and access the resources of the Quilpie Shire Library, enabling them to borrow books and resources from a wider borrowing system.

Scholastic book club and Annual book fair

Children and parents may purchase books through Scholastic book club or Annual book fair in October. Book club brochures are sent home with the newsletter throughout the year. The school is given a small credit with each purchase made by our families. These credits are then used to purchase more resources for our school or prize books for speech and awards evening.
