Dear Family and Friends Welcome to Term 4. We have had a fantastic start to the term. Over the past two weeks we have already attended two school swimming lessons, had two music and nativity play practices as well as having many birthdays to celebrate! STATE TRACK & FIELD This week Ava Horgan made the trip to Brisbane to compete at the State Track & Field Carnival in the 100M sprint and the relay team. We hope she has had a successful carnival and enjoyed this incredible experience! ONLINE MUSIC LESSONS I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Lindy Sommerfield for her fantastic online private piano lessons she has offered the students this year. Lindy’s students will be performing at the End of Year Awards Night. We also would like to thank Mrs Leia Jensen who has worked with our instrumental students online this term. She has made a very positive impact on the students this year. Next year 4-6yr students can choose to learn an instrument. Mrs Leia Jensen will be visiting in week 8 this term and the students will be doing their end of year performances. AWARDS NIGHT AND NATIVITY PLAY This year we have decided to have our Nativity Play performance. Awards Night will be held on Wednesday 29th November at 6pm. Our Nativity Play will be help on Thursday 30th November at 12pm. Please come along! Our Instrumental and Piano Students along with a few special guests will be playing in the live band! We have fantastic Narrators as well as our all-important Nativity Play actors! COMBINED SCHOOL ARTS EXHIBITION Thank you to the ladies at the Quilpie Visitor Information centre who have worked hard to create a fantastic display for our student’s artwork. Thank you to the students for their huge effort and to the Teachers and to Miss Janell for their efforts in getting the art completed and prepared. The art looks fantastic. Please make sure you take the time to stop in over the next week or so to see the display. PRINCIPAL AWAY I will be away next Thursday 19th and returning to school on Tuesday 24th October. I may not be able to answer any emails while I am away. Prep 2024 Enrolments
Add these dates to your diary! We are so excited to welcome all families who would like to attend our Prep Transition Mornings in Term Term 4. We use these mornings to observe and get to know your children to take the pressure off you with preparing them for school. We are completely committed to ensuring we are prepared for your child in 2024. A great opportunity for all Quilpie and surrounding areas children to experience a morning in the classroom.
Every Friday is school assembly in the Mary Mac room, at 8.45am. When the school bell rings we head down to the Mary Mac room where student awards and other news is presented. Parents and friends are more than welcome to attend.

St Finbarr's Student Protection Contacts
It is a legislative requirement that all non-state schools have at least two nominated staff members to whom a student can report the behaviour of another staff member that the student considers inappropriate. We call these specially trained staff members School Student Protection Contacts, or SSPCs. Each SSPC has been nominated by the principal in recognition of their integrity, approachability and knowledge in the area of student protection. Whilst students are encouraged to speak up to any trusted adult in the school community, it is important that they know they can access these specific staff members at any time should they have worries, queries or concerns. You will have noticed posters throughout the school depicting our current SSPCs. The SSPCs are also published on our school website along with information about our student protection processes. In everything we do at St Finbarr's student safety is our highest priority, therefore the SSPCs at our school are key personnel in our overall safeguarding processes. Please see the poster depicting our current SSPC team.
